Today's Tip:

When packing, fill all boxes to the top to prevent damage and crushing.

Did you know that the biggest cause of damage to packed items is items being crushed due to weak or unfilled boxes?  It's true! Boxes that aren't full are significantly more likely to collapse and crush whatever contents are inside of them.  So how do you prevent this from happening?

The answer is to fill each box completely to the top.  Sounds simple right?  Well, sometimes that might be the case; but what do you do when you're packing boxes full of miscellaneous items and nothing else will fit in the gaps?  You can try using some of the following items to help fill the space:

  • Packing Paper
  • Bubble Wrap
  • Sheets/Pillows
  • Blankets
  • Loose Clothing

Filling boxes completely may require some creativity from time to time, but it can go a long way in reducing the chances of boxes collapsing and damaging items.

As always, if you ever have a question about how to pack certain items you can always give Veterans Moving America a call to help you out.  You can reach us at (817) 989-6362.

Happy Packing!
